1911 Upgrades: Rail, Night Sights, Holster and Stabilizer

The 1911 is over a century old. You can give it modern features without touching its soul.

1. A Rail for a Light

Most classic 1911s have no accessory rail. The Recover Tactical CC3H grip and rail replaces your grips and adds a full-length Picatinny rail in about three minutes, using your existing grip screws. It fits standard-frame 1911s, full size and Commander, and nothing on the pistol is modified.

2. Night Sights

For Kimber 1911 owners, the Meprolight Hyper-Bright sights add a bright daylight ring and tritium for the dark. More in our night sights guide.

3. A Level II Holster

The ORPAZ C-Series Level II fits railed and non-railed 1911s, with an inner thumb lock and adjustable retention.

4. A Stabilizer for the Range

The Recover Tactical 20/11 clamps onto any full-size 1911 without a rail, with no disassembly, and uses your pistol's own sights. In the US, a shoulder stock on a pistol may require NFA/SBR registration.

FAQ

Does the Recover CC3H fit a double-stack 1911?

No. It fits standard-frame 1911s, full size and Commander, not double-stack or compact frames.

Is the grip and rail permanent?

No. Put your original grips back and the pistol is unchanged.

Will the 20/11 fit a 1911 with a rail?

No, it's for full-size 1911s without a built-in rail.

Do I need a gunsmith for any of this?

Not for the grip and rail, holster or stabilizer. Night sights are easiest with a sight pusher or a gunsmith.
