Most defensive shootings happen in low light. Black iron sights don't.
Tritium is a gas that glows on its own. Sealed in tiny vials inside the sight, it gives you a visible aiming point in the dark, with no batteries, no switches and no charging. Meprolight, the Israeli maker we carry, guarantees its tritium illumination for 12 years.
Three Styles, Three Sight Pictures
Tru-Dot: the classic three dots
Three tritium dots, front and rear. White rings make them crisp in daylight, and they glow at night. Simple and fast. Options: Glock standard frame, Glock adjustable, Beretta PX4 Storm.
Hyper-Bright: a daylight ring
A bright colored ring (green, orange or yellow) around the front tritium vial jumps out in daylight, and the tritium takes over at night. Options: CZ Shadow 2, Kimber 1911.
FT Bullseye: front-focus only
Fiber optic by day, tritium by night, in a green bullseye picture. You put the ring on the target and shoot, with no rear sight to align, which helps shooters with tired eyes or astigmatism. Option: H&K VP9, P30, 45.
Which One?
- Want the familiar picture: Tru-Dot.
- Shoot a lot in daylight too: Hyper-Bright.
- Struggle to focus on three planes: FT Bullseye.
For Rifles
Meprolight also makes a tritium front post for AR-15 / M16 and FRBS flip-up backup sights for Picatinny rails.
Installing Them
Pistol sights go into the factory dovetail with no changes to the gun. A sight pusher makes it quick and precise; if you don't have one, a gunsmith will fit them in minutes.
Tritium sights ship to US addresses only. See all pistol night sights.
